The NAR Settlement and How it Impacts You
You may be aware of the NAR Settlement that went into effect today, August 17th. There has been a lot of hype and misinformation out there regarding the changes. Here are the facts:
Homebuyers will sign an agreement with their buyer agent clearly stating compensation they are willing to offer their agent.
These agreements will help consumers understand exactly what services and value will be provided, and for how much.
Listing brokers and sellers still have the choice of offering compensation to buyer brokers, however the offer of compensation is not required to be shown on the Multiple Listing Service.
Buying and selling your home are huge financial transactions and we’re here to guide you through the process, negotiate on your behalf, and be your trusted advisor. Ultimately, the changes to the industry are designed to provide clarity and transparency around how and why realtors get paid. All offers of compensation will continue to be negotiable.
