Our Spring Newsletter

Steve & Nicole’s Spring Newsletter

A little bit of everything. From design to books and local events; here’s what’s exciting us this month!

Quote We Are Pondering

"You're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry. Don't worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way." - Walter C. Hagen
Books We Are Reading

Steve: Freezing Order by Bill Browder. This was a follow up to his first book Red Notice, which has been one of my favorites from the last 7 years. I think we take certain things in this country for granted, and one of those being free enterprise. It’s another wild story of money laundering from Russia’s highest government officials of billions of their citizen’s tax dollars. And the personal fight Bill undertook to change the world through the legacy of a lost friend.

Nicole: Swipe Up for More! by Stephanie McNeal. This book was fascinating to me because I’ve always wondered about the lives of influencers, how they get brand deals, create content 24/7, deal with haters, and look flawless while doing it. It wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read, but I appreciated the author diving into the relatively unknown world of content creators.

Inspire

We finally secured a flower share from Fivefork Farms and couldn’t be more excited! Shares sell out so quickly but we were able to get a 5-week Dahlia share starting in the fall and a 3-week winter tulip share! With pick-up locations in the city and suburbs, it’s a fun thing to gift yourself or someone else.

Dreaming of a bowl of this cozy soup

Tulip Mania returns to the Garden at Elm Bank in April. Keep an eye out for this fun event. Last year, we noticed families getting professional photos taken. What a stunning backdrop for a family or engagement shoot!

A great new (to us) instagram follow: Emilie Johnson

An off season secret - the wineries of the Hamptons & North Fork. Check out that heated tent (below)!

Local Happenings

The highly anticipated opening of Weston’s newest restaurant (and the only one licensed to serve alcohol), The Woods. A farm-to-table restaurant with produce sourced from nearby Land's Sake Farm, environmentally friendly interior design and a wood-burning stove fueled by locally-sourced wood. Wow!

Our friends at Wild Robbins Farm are taking over the Heritage of Sherborn and rebranding and renaming it, Fireside Tavern Sherborn. We’re so excited to see what Laura Robbins and Team has in store! Cult favorite gourmet chicken pot pies available 7 days/week…yes, please!
